“I love our family’s song! you perfectly captured what I wanted to express to my spouse. You are incredibly talented and I am fortunate to have you in my life!”
- Megan Kahn, Hamden, CT
Megan wanted a song to deeply thank her husband, Yusuf, for standing by her with ultimate patience and helpfulness through the past couple of years of her illness and surgeries. Their family of 3 lives in Connecticut, and they have spent some special times together on Block Island, and they were planning a trip to the Grand Canyon to celebrate Megan’s recovery. I worked references to those into the song, using the lighthouse as the main metaphor for their marriage and family love. For their video I used dozens of photos and short videos, all from Megan’s Facebook page, that perfectly capture the essence of her story of recovery, the joy of their marriage, and the warmth of their family love. FUN FACT: This song was recorded and produced in our RV on a year-long cross-country trip, using only solar power!
"Her devotion to her craft, her skill at creating the music, the work that she put into it was just amazing. I am just so pleased and so honored to have this beautiful piece of music that I know will touch the hearts of those who listen to it. And to feel that connection to nature that Robin has and has demonstrated with the music that she created for me, and for the trees. For them to say "Hello, we’re here."
- Ann Metcalf, Ontario
Ann is a healer and guide, using nature as her inspiration and teacher. She heard and felt the birch trees outside her window in Ontario, Canada, singing through the fluttering of their leaves in the breeze. She wanted to capture this in a meditative piece of music and video that she could share with her clients in her app and other mediums. I composed this epic, 11-minute piece for her with the idea of taking her listeners on a gentle journey, while putting them back in touch with nature and themselves. And I had so much fun creating the video for it. The video features clips Ann sent me of her own neighborhood trees singing, clips another friend in Ontario took around his rural locale, and some stock footage, all celebrating the etherial majesty of these trees, forests and rivers. You can hear the crunch and singing of the leaves, as well as birdsongs and magnificent rivers. This is one of my favorite projects to date. It was made all the more special when, a year later, I got to travel from my decidedly birch-free home state of Florida, to upstate New York, listening to this piece and hiking through a lovely, singing birch forest myself. There is nothing like it. I invite you to surrender to meditation on the joyous energy of God's living things while enjoying this video.
“My girlfriend, Robin, wrote this song. Robin took her joy and created a memorable experience for me to really feel that feeling of love from her over and over. Robin’s creative lyrics and accompanying music tell our story in a way that pulls heartstrings unlike anything else. A custom song absolutely goes beyond traditional means of expression. Thank you so much, Robin!”
- Chris Tucker, Abilene TX
I wanted to surprise my boyfriend (now husband), Christopher, at our first Christmas with a song about how meeting him changed my life. Ours was a long distance love that was as romantic as it was dramatic. As the first few lines of the song allude to, there was a day when I texted him, "Just for a minute. Can we say anything." He said, "OK" And I wrote, "I've about lost my mind over you, what do you have to say about about it? Are you carrying on with girls like this all the time, or just me? Cause I'm having an existential meltdown over you." And that was the beginning of an open, honest, deeply loving relationship where we have an understanding that we can say anything, share our hearts, and not be punished for it like in past relationships. We have now celebrated five more "Say Anything Day" anniversaries, but we revel in the fact that, as I wrote in the song, "Every single day is Say Anything Day."
“This was the greatest gift anyone's ever given to me. It made me cry, especially on the eve of my little lioness’s 9th birthday. I love it so much. Thank you for sharing your talent with my family.” - Wendy Phillips, Denver
The Phillips Phamily requested a song about lions, which is their family mascot. I crafted a song that captured both the beating heart and lions of Africa, where Wendy has done missionary work, and the spirit of Ireland, her family’s heritage land. The lyrics used lion metaphors to tell the story of each member of the family, including their 22-year-old cat, Cajun. The video includes over 120 photos taken by the family - including Wendy’s photos from her Africa safari and her million-dollar dental marketing business - strategically placed for maximum impact, giving extra insight to the adventure stories behind the song lyrics.
"I think everyone can relate on some level to the enormity of committing to a longterm relationship. This song beautifully addresses the fear and the joy of falling in love. Robin always surprises me with the depth of her imagination on these custom songs." - A.S.
This is a song I wrote for my former husband, years ago, and recorded with him as my producer in the final year of our marriage. I tried to capture that mystical feeling of falling in love, how it's amazing that two people find each other and make a life together, and how I was always trying to write him songs but never could find the words to express my love. The bridge (instrumental middle part) is an excerpt from an instrumental song I wrote him when we first met, called ”Island Bound.” The last verse is about my hesitation to commit and get married, but then being overcome by my love for him.
“My heart is overflowing with love and gratitude after watching what you created️️! I’m so excited to be able to share this with her. I think the most incredible part about this song is that even though it’s about my sister, I personally connected to every beautiful lyric. Truly blessed!” - Becky Signurnjak, Jacksonville FL
Becky wanted a song to surprise her sister, Celena, on her 40th birthday. She was concerned that Celena felt like she had successfully raised a family but wasn’t sure where life would take her next. We collaborated on this song to express her humor, love and admiration for her sister and encourage her to spread her wings and not be afraid to try something new. Celena lives in Florida and loves the ocean. I also recorded a performance video of the song that was played at Celena's birthday party.
"Thank you so much for writing this song for me. I love it!!" - Celena Sigurnjak Ramos
“A talented artist and songwriter with a big heart and beautiful voice” - Barbara Scarano, Fregene, Italy (one of the co-writers on this song)

In 2019, while my family and I were living in an RV, traveling the country, I asked my Instagram followers to contribute a line or story about their wonderful summers. My intention was to take their stories and weave them into an ethereal, wistful song. This one, written live on Instagram using the comments my followers gave, was about saying goodbye to a glorious summer as we reach the autumn solstice. It's titled "Fireflies." The video features a few scenes from our RV life out west.
The studio-recorded version of the song turned out even better! Click to listen, under the video.
“I am still stunned and amazed at how she was able to take Erik's story, including inspiration from his favorite musician, Lindsey Stirling, and create such a lovely, inspiring song." - Tammy Payne, Georgia
Tammy wanted a love song to her little son Eric, aged 7. He's a bright, imaginative, outgoing boy with special needs, who had issues expressing himself and often felt misunderstood. Tammy wanted him to know he is always loved no matter what, even if he can't speak clearly. He loved superheroes and wanted to be one when he grew up. Tammy described how, at a recent trip to the park, Eric made a bunch of new friends and they were playing superheroes and monsters. So the song starts with a sense of running from danger. I also tapped into a celtic flavor for the song, because one of Eric's favorite music artists was violinist Lindsey Stirling. To capture Eric's energy, I made the song upbeat and positive.
A song I wrote for a friend battling cancer. She was a music therapist and music really motivates her. She used to bring a different "fight song" to listen to every time she went in for chemo. I wanted her to know that no matter what she was going through, all her friends were here for her. I'm happy to report (not because of my song but surely thanks to God) that she beat the cancer and has been happily cancer free for about 6 years now!
